About Us
Founding statement
The business operations of Berco Clutch and Friction PTY Ltd is situated in the Stormill industrial area, West of Johannesburg in close proximity to the N1 and all major freeways. Our management team has close to forty four year’s experience in the brake and clutch industry with a number of our business relationships in the trade going back many years.
Business activities
Our core business activities consist of the sale and marketing of friction materials and clutch products for the automotive, industrial and mining industries. Friction products include heavy duty brake linings for commercial vehicles, moulded roll lining for automotive bonding of brake shoes, as well as woven material for industrial and mining applications.
Our product selection include some well-respected brand names which are proven in the market based on their quality and durability.

All friction materials are “E” marked and compliant with international and SABS quality standards. Our selection and choice of products are always based on quality approved standards. We endeavour to maintain high standards of quality workmanship and to exceed service expectations to better serve the needs of our valued clients.
Current events and activities
Our long term involvement in the clutch and brake industry resulted in the formation of Berco Machinery SA, a subsidiary company, competing in the forefront of the technical and engineering segment of the industry, specialising in the manufacture of pneumatic riveting, brake and clutch machinery and equipment.
Vision
Our objective remains to make available to our clients an above average range of approved automotive products at competitive prices, and to create an awareness as to the importance of not using sub-standard (inferior) parts and materials, especially those related to the braking systems of commercial vehicles i.e. busses and other forms of public transport, where safety standards are critical.

SC & Huauto - Non Asbestos Heavy duty brake linings
SC & Huauto - Non Asbestos Heavy duty brake linings is a medium to high friction premium quality asbestos free lining material which are “E” marked and compliant with international and SABS quality standards. Performance and durability properties have been extensively evaluated. SC & Huauto material demonstrates exceptional brake performance, superior resistance to fade with excellent drum compatibility. Tensile strength is above average while lower swell and growth characteristics avoid any potential for wheel lockup. SC & Huauto friction material is suited for use with automatic slack adjusters.

RAPID RP12-C Brake shoe & clutch riveter
The latest addition to our range, the RP12 model C Econno Series pneumatically operated brake shoe and clutch riveter offers an extremely cost effective option for smaller workshops, whilst at the same time providing flexibility within large organisations to their bulk production needs. As such these robust model C fully adjustable machines meet with all the requirements of those engaged at all levels of brake and clutch lining assembly, whether they be re-lining depots, heavy transport, earth moving workshops or major manufacturers.
